INFORMATION
DAY6 (데이식스) is a South Korean band under JYP Entertainment (Studio J). They debuted on 7th September 2015. The band consist of 5 members: Sungjin, Jae, Young K, Wonpil and Dowoon. Junhyeok is a past member and left in February 2016. All of them play their own and multiple instruments.
All members contribute heavily to the song-making process. The songs are self-written and self-composed. In addition to that, everyone has their take on the arrangement and production of the songs.
The official fandom name is MyDay.
HISTORY
2013 - 2014: They were first formed as 5LIVE and made their soft debut on Mnets reality-survival programme Who is Next: Win consisting of Sungjin, Jae, Young K, Junhyeok and Wonpil. They also released a song titled “Lovely Girl“ as a part of the original soundtrack of 2013 TV Series Bel Ami.
mid-2015: After fans compared them to the american band MAROON 5 and adding Dowoon they changed their name to DAY6.
7th September 2015: Debut with Congratulations and release of their debut EP The Day
2017: Their year-long project EVERYDAY6 was launched, in which they released 2 songs and 1 Music Video per month. All songs are featured in 2 compilation albums titled Sunrise (June) and Moonrise (December).
May 2018: Their first world tour called YOUTH was announced. They started it with their first show on 22nd June 2018 in Seoul, South Korea and played their last show as part of the world tour (Encore) on 31st March 2019 in Seoul, South Korea.
6th November 2018: At the 2018 Genie Music Awards they won the Best Band Performance Award.
July 2019: DAY6 announced their second world tour GRAVITY. The first show was on 9th August 2019 in Seoul, South Korea. On 31st January 2020 they played their last show in Madrid, Spain.
24th and 25th July 2019: They won their first and second Music Show win withthe song Time Of Our Life off the album The Book Of Us: Gravity.
1st August 2019: They won the Best Band Award at the 2020 Genie Music Awards.

● On 27th February 2016 it was announced that Junhyeok left the company due to personal reasons. While being on „The Unit“ he stated that he left DAY6 because he thought he was doing harm to the group due to past controversy
● After leaving DAY6 he was part oft he 4-member band Be Blossom under V Entertainment
● Junhyeok made his solo debut with an album consisting of 2 songs called „Stay“ and „Sorry“. It was released on 22nd February 2018
